Presidents Report

August 2011

Hello Again Members,
I would like to take this opportunity as out going president for the financial year ending 2011 to express my thanks to the committee, my family and the committee’s families and to you the members, for making the 55 56 57 Club of Australia what it is today.

The AGM was held last month and by popular demand both myself and the outgoing committee were re elected, so as in coming president I would like to say thank you for the opportunity to again be the lead voice of the club, I along with the committee will try to do the best we can, for you the members and to our sponsors.

I feel that year is going to be very exciting for the club, This year we have 70 members on the books; this is such a positive, seeing the numbers increasing year by year.

It is soon time for the club to hold our biggest event of the year “The Camden Car Show”, on Sunday 16 October 2011, Onslow Oval Camden, this day has grown over the years, to continue with the success we need everybody’s help, the more members we have on the day assisting the better the show operates, its an early start, we kick off at about 6 AM, by 3 PM we are packing up and saying thank god that’s over for another year.

Over the years we have given our support to many varied charities, this year our support is going to the 24 Hour Fight against CANCER (Macarthur Region), both Ben and I have met with Fred Borg Chairman of this organisation and will be able to tell you more at the August meeting.

If anyone has an organisation or person that maybe able to be sponsors for the Camden car show please see me.

Hi again folks,
It is good to see the number of membership renewals that have been flowing in this month, but there are still many of you who have still not sent in your renewals. If you are renewing your membership this year, please remember that we need them back ASAP..

It is very promising to see the number of new members we have had in recent months, and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome those of you who have just joined as new members.

This month, along with your magazine, you will also be receiving two raffle books for Camden Car Show. If possible could you please try to make an effort to sell the tickets and return the stubs along with a cheque or money order to our post office box address, or return them in person at one of our monthly meetings.

If you have paid your membership renewal by the end of this month, you will be receiving in next months magazine, your new membership card. The cards will be laminated for protection.

For those of you who don’t already know, and are interested, the 567 Chev club is also on Facebook. Just search for 55-56-57 Chevrolet Club of Australia and you will find us. We also have a page for Camden Car Show, which will keep you updated on what will be happenning at the show, so llok us up on Facebook, friend us and add us to your favourites.
